Score each buying criterion for you and two rivals (1–5). A claim without evidence is marked unverified — that is your research list.

Strategic gap map

AmplifyDelivery promise kept: we lead (4 vs best rival 3) — make it provable in market.
AttackableDelivery promise kept: Rival A is weak (2) — evidence: 12 complaints, Jun 2026.
AmplifyAfter-sales response < 24h: we lead (3 vs best rival 2) — make it provable in market.
AttackableAfter-sales response < 24h: Rival B is weak (1) — evidence: Trustpilot pattern, Q2.
Fix firstPrice transparency: we trail everyone (2) — fix before amplifying anything else.
Never build a campaign on an unverified rival weakness. The map separates what you know from what you hope — act on the first, research the second.

How it works

List the criteria buyers actually choose on — in their words, from interviews or reviews. Score 1–5 for you and each rival.

Every rival score without evidence is flagged UNVERIFIED. Unverified weaknesses go to the research list, never into a campaign.

The map outputs three lists: fix-first (you trail everyone), attackable (a verified rival weakness), amplify (you lead — make it provable).

Worked example

A services firm scores 'response within 24h': us 3, Rival A 2, Rival B 1 with a review-pattern citation. Sales decks stop claiming everything and start proving responsiveness — the one claim with receipts.

Questions, answered

Where do we get rival evidence?

Reviews, win/loss interviews, dealer conversations, their own published claims and a mystery purchase. Date every source — weaknesses expire.

How often should the map be refreshed?

Quarterly in fast categories. A rival fixing their weakness is exactly what you don't want to learn from a lost deal.
